Statement of Marital Breakdown and Abuse I am seeking a divorce on the grounds that my marriage has irretrievably broken down due to ongoing verbal, emotional, and physical abuse. Throughout the marriage, my spouse has repeatedly used abusive and degrading language toward me, including calling me offensive names. This behavior has caused significant emotional distress and has created a hostile and unsafe environment. In addition to verbal abuse, there has been physical aggression. On one occasion, my spouse forcefully grabbed my arm and scratched me, causing physical harm. This incident reflects an escalation from verbal abuse to physical violence. My spouse has also demonstrated a lack of emotional support and partnership. For example, when I needed support for an important personal matter, I was dismissed and told that my spouse had no time for me. This pattern of neglect has contributed to emotional hardship. There have also been incidents of intimidating behavior, including attempts to force entry into a room when I tried to create space for my safety. These actions have made me feel unsafe in my own home. These ongoing issues have negatively affected my mental well-being and have created an unhealthy environment for our child. Due to these circumstances, there is no reasonable expectation that the marriage can be repaired. For these reasons, I am requesting that the court grant a divorce. I declare that the above statements are true to the best of my knowledge.
