Subject: Re: American Family Please help me get this settled. Cory with American Family said he wanted to settle. When I call he says otherwise' My roof needed to be replaced for insurance purposes because it was over 15 years old. American Family Insurance told me to replace the roof or lose my home The home was an estate sale that I received following a fire on my previous home. Hansons Roofing performed the replacement at $15,000. Upgrade is the lender. Steve with American Family Insurance told me it had to be replaced, or they would take my home. Kurt Gustafson with the agency would not return my calls. I was told I had to use Hansons because they had an agreement with them. If they had checked the building permits, they could have seen that my roof was replaced in 2020 I learned later that my roof was replaced in 2020. If Hansons or American had checked the Linn County building permits, I would not have needed the roof replaced. I was not allowed a forgivable loan. I am asking that for a settlement of $16K. which includes: Refund of payments to Upgrade for $1,500. Refund of small claims fees for $900. Materials were left on my lawn for 3 months. When the materials were removed, it left a hole in my lawn. I need a pro bono attorney because I cannot afford to pay $2K upfront
