Dear Community Legal Services, My name is Margaret Weldon, and I am requesting pro bono legal assistance with an urgent Orange County, Florida family law custody matter involving my 14-year-old daughter. My daughter has significant disabilities, including Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type II, and there have been two recent reports made to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) by her treating psychologist. Two DCF investigations have been initiated, and I have been advised by an attorney that the previous paternity/custody case was dismissed and that no judge-signed custody order is currently in place. I am seeking legal representation to file a new custody and time-sharing case that protects my daughter's best interests and addresses her medical, developmental, and emotional needs. I am a single mother with a very limited income and cannot afford private counsel. I would be extremely grateful for the opportunity to be considered for pro bono representation or any legal assistance your organization may be able to provide. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Margaret Weldon
